Diamond & Sapphire Halo Dress 9Ct Gold Ring

A proper dress ring for an evening out. An oval sapphire takes the centre, claw-set and framed by a halo of small clear stones in a bright white-toned mount, so the blue really sings against the surround. The shoulders split into gentle scroll-like lines before settling into a plain polished 9ct gold shank, which gives it shape without bulk. It has real presence on the hand yet stays comfortable to wear, and I'd happily bring it out for dinners and occasions or let it dress up an ordinary day. The hallmark shows it was crafted in Birmingham, the historic home of British jewellery, in 1991 by the maker W&G, stamped 375 for 9ct gold.
