9Ct Gold Antique Scroll Work Amethyst Pendant

Antique in feel and light as anything — a pear-shaped amethyst held in an open scrollwork drop. The purple stone is claw-set at the centre of a teardrop frame, with curling openwork around it that catches the eye without adding any weight. It hangs dead straight from a polished, tapered bail, so it layers as happily as it wears alone. For my money it's the scrollwork that makes it: plenty of character in a small, easy piece, and a warm note of colour against the yellow gold. A pretty thing for a February birthday, or for anyone who leans to violet.
