9Ct Gold Vintage Opal Set Cabachon Ring
Late-eighties craftsmanship, this one, a vintage opal cabochon ring hallmarked in Birmingham in 1989. At its heart sits an oval cabochon opal, its domed surface catching a soft play-of-colour, held in a neat bezel and ringed by a decorative scalloped, rope-effect halo. The tapered plain shank keeps it comfortable for everyday wear, and I'd happily wear it alone or stacked with a plain band or two. Made in 9ct gold. The hallmark shows it was crafted in Birmingham, the historic home of British jewellery, marked 375 for 9ct gold, with 'RBs' the maker's mark.
